These are active initiatives — households at different phases of their collective self-build journey, from early group formation to architectural design. None of these are completed builds. Register to connect with a group in your region.
De Groenplaats
Forming around a shared programme of compact mixed-tenure housing, a communal garden and car-light streets. Seeking 2–4 more households with an interest in participative design. Group charter in progress.
Hofje Midden
Gemeente Haarlem plot secured through CPO tender. Group has completed shared programme design and is in the process of selecting a CPO-experienced architect for the omgevingsvergunning submission.
Buurt Samen
Intergenerational group: young families with children alongside older households downsizing from larger homes. Key programme requirements include accessible ground-floor units and a shared outdoor terrace. Currently seeking 4–6 additional households before submitting to gemeente for site preference.
Tilburg CPO-28
28 households in active architectural design. Shared programme finalised, CPO-experienced architect engaged, Wkb kwaliteitsborger appointed. Omgevingsvergunning submission in preparation. Group is not accepting new members.
Alkmaar Woongroep
Smaller group with a clear sustainability brief: BENG-certified design, heat pump collective, shared bike workshop and tool library. Looking for 2–4 households with a genuine interest in energy-positive building methods and willingness to invest time in the design process.
Utrecht Oostkwartier
Gemeente Utrecht erfpacht plot confirmed in Utrecht Oost. The group is currently developing their shared programme: mixed residential above a shared community space at ground level. CPO process advisor engaged. Architect selection starts this quarter.
